Film and TV – What Publishers and Authors Can Do

We often get asked about whether we approach tv and film. The answer to this is almost always, no. Why, you ask? Well, we’ll explain…

 

In the old days, a film director or producer may read a book and realise that is the story they have been looking for! Fast-forward thirty years, and television and film companies were so bombarded with books from authors and publishers that they stopped asking and accepting.

 

The best way to get your book to a film or TV company is to have your book turned into a movie script. This is not something we can offer as your publishing house; this would need to be done by yourself or a scriptwriter. Film and TV companies will often accept scripts, so this is your best bet!

 

It is not just a simple as writing a script. Remember, screenwriting is a very different art and very difficult to master!
